Lifepoint in Guatemala

in Partnership with "What Matters Ministries & Missions"

As we carry out our mission of “becoming like Jesus and doing His work,” our desire is to be obedient to God’s calling to care for widows, orphans and the poor, not only across the street, but also across the sea. For this reason, we have partnered with What Matters Ministries & Missions, whose vision is to impact and change the global crisis of forgotten, abused, and discarded children and widows in developing countries by providing self-esteem and value through education, housing, food, and health care.

Meet Olivia.

Olivia, a 76-year-old widow in Guatemala, lived with her daughter in a fragile clay-and-mud home that had partially collapsed multiple times. Despite extreme poverty and food scarcity, she remained active in her church and continued to share the Gospel and pray with her community.

On June 14-21, Lifepoint went to Guatemala to build Olivia a safe, sturdy cinderblock home with two bedrooms, a main room, and a stove. Through our partnership with What Matters Ministries & Missions, she continues to receive food for life, plus medical and dental care.
